Simplicity Fireplaces is a family‑run business led by Chris and Lynn. Chris brings over 40 years of experience in the stone industry, having worked on prestigious projects at Highgrove for nearly three decades, as well as Windsor Castle, Gatcombe, Oxford University, and numerous stone restorations across the Cotswolds and beyond.
Their son Lewis joined the company after leaving college and now carves alongside Chris, while Lynn manages the administrative side of the business. Together, they operate from their workshop near Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, creating handcrafted fireplaces with traditional skill and attention to detail.

Authentic Natural Bath Stone — Never Imitation
We do not supply reconstituted stone or imported hollow stone. All our surrounds are carved from solid English natural Bath stone — genuine, durable, and timeless.
Because our stone is locally sourced, each fireplace is naturally unique. You may see shells, fossil fragments, mineral markings, and calcite veining, formed over 145 million years ago. These features are part of the charm and authenticity of a true natural material.

Hand‑Crafted by Skilled Stonemasons
All our fireplaces are hand‑crafted by our stonemasons from blocks of natural oolitic heritage Bath stone, formed during the Jurassic period. You can choose from the designs shown on our website, or create your own bespoke design — we offer a complete made‑to‑measure service for all surrounds and hearths.
Costs vary depending on the design and the sizes required.
If you live within 50 miles of Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, we can offer one FREE personal delivery with your fireplace purchase. We will unload the vehicle and carry the sections into your home at roadside level, or into a garage/shed. For larger fireplaces, we may require assistance with unloading.
If you are outside our local area, we can still arrange delivery via a pallet lorry to mainland England and Wales. This is a kerbside, signed‑for delivery.
Please note that we do not deliver to Scotland or any of the Isles.
Due to rising costs and our busy period, we no longer offer national UK delivery on hearths. Hearths can now only be delivered personally within 30 miles of our workshop, Monday to Friday. If you are outside this radius and still wish to purchase hearths, they will need to be collected in person, Monday to Friday between 10am and 2pm.
We are based just outside Nailsworth, Gloucestershire and can offer an installation service within 20 miles. Please contact us for details and pricing.
Once a delivery date has been agreed, we will make every effort to meet it. However, we cannot accept liability for delays caused by adverse weather, which may affect both the cutting of the stone and the safe delivery of your fireplace. We appreciate your understanding that this is outside our control.
If you would like a FREE stone sample, please send us your full address and we will post one out for your consideration.
If you wish to visit the workshop, please note that visits must be pre‑booked (Monday to Friday only) for health and safety reasons. We do not have fireplaces on display, but you will be able to see a piece currently being worked on for colour and texture. Alternatively, we can send you a small sample of Bath stone free of charge.
